Currently the University at Albany Alumni Association is utilizing Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals. This edition is our no-cost solution designed specifically to provide all UAlbany alumni permanent, fully functioning email accounts branded with the alumni.albany.edu domain. Each user is allotted 10 GB of storage.
How much storage is allotted per user? Beginning Jan. 1, 2023, all existing and new users of the alumni email account powered by Google Workspace for Education will each be allotted 10 GB of storage space.
How do I access my alumni email account through Google? You can access your account directly at http://mail.google.com/a/alumni.albany.edu.
Can I change my email username? Yes. Email your current username, along with your desired username, to Steph Snyder of the Alumni Association. How do I reset my password? Send your request to Steph Snyder of the Alumni Association, or call (518) 442-3099.
Can I forward to another email account? Yes. Read about this Google feature or see instructions on setting this up.
I am a current student at UAlbany. Can I create an alumni email account? Yes, if you are enrolled in your last year as a UAlbany student you can create an alumni email account. Your student email account with UAlbany through Outlook is not associated with an alumni email account powered by Google Workspace. We suggest setting up your alumni email account during your last year at UAlbany, as this enables you to have a professional email address while working on your post-graduation plans. You can also send any important documents or messages to your alumni account before your student account is deactivated. This deactivation of your student account happens one year after you graduate, sooner if you leave UAlbany before completing a degree program. For information on your student email account, see UAlbany Information Technology Services.
